Barbara, a student at Vancouver School of Theology, will be working and learning with Comox United Church from September-November 2026 and January-April 2027 as part of her Master of Divinity training.
Barbara was born and raised in the Lower Mainland, where she raised her two children. She is a lifelong member of The United Church of Canada, with some firsthand experience worshipping in Anglican, Lutheran, and Alliance churches. Her first career was in public libraries, having a great time doing just about everything one can do without becoming part of administration. She took early retirement from library work in 2020.
Barbara and her husband Fred moved from Maple Ridge to Parksville in 2021, partly to be closer to their granddaughter (and her parents) who live on Gabriola Island, and because they love Vancouver Island.
She is a lifelong learner with a diploma in Library and Information Technology, a B.A. in English literature, a (rusty) black belt in Taekwondo, a diploma in Theological Studies, and a certificate in Contemplative End of Life Care.
Tuesday to Friday 9 am - 12 noon
