What a special evening! We watched the documentary film Love Free or Die - the story of the Rt. Rev. Gene Robinson, the first openly gay bishop in the Anglican (Episcopalian) Church. From his consecration (where he had to wear a bullet proof vest) to the time, years later, when the church passed a motion officially agreeing to the consecration of gay Bishops, we followed Gene in his determination to stand up for the rights of LGBTQ2SIA+ individuals to be treated equally by the church.
And . . . Fr. Gene joined us via Zoom before the film, to give us context - and after the film, to answer questions!
And, of course, there was pie - lots and lot of wonderful, home-baked, delicious pie!
