Natural and Conservation Burial

Sunday September 21st, 2025

10AM - NOON

Registration: $25

Location: We will meet at: Nikkei No Haka Japanese Cemetery in Cumberland and walk to the Cumberland Chinese cemetery.

An informative morning to consider how natural and conservation burial can bring new life to the earth after we are gone. We will consider the impacts of disposition/interment of our body for the earth and all her creatures. Re-imagining together old and simple ways that bring our bodies back into the circle of life.

Let’s explore the impacts of modern technological forms of decomposition of the body, while taking a deeper dive into how natural and conservation burial practices are viable and possible choices right now.

By educating ourselves well now, we can tend the soil for future generations! We look forward to sharing the morning with you.

What to Expect:

· A facilitated walk between two cemeteries

· An informative handout

· Ample opportunities for questions and discussions

· Meet other folks interested in growing natural/conservation burial opportunities in this community
