Course Description

Faith on the Move focuses on themes of movement and change, physical and spiritual journeys. Our spiritual practices carry us through times of transition in our lives, when we wander in a metaphorical desert. For migrants, refugees, and others, the journey is more than a metaphor. The daily devotions, written by a variety of contributors, invite us to reflect on and respond to people who are on the move for a variety of reasons.

Are you aching for a community of friends to walk through Lent with this year? Yearning for a few wise souls to share the risky, surprised-filled adventure and explore the places that will challenge you and stretch you to your limit?

This year's Lenten book is full of reflections on hope and change to help us cherish the complex stories of the Bible. It's good to read by yourself; it's even more exciting to read together with others!

Or perhaps you've signed up to lead a virtual study group in your church based on the book, but you'd like a bit of help getting going. Come join us for a chance to kickstart your reflections so you're ready to share them with the group you lead later in the week.

This set of six weekly 60-minute webinars will give you a chance to connect with others walking the same journey. Each week, facilitator Julie McGonegal will

  • lead some discussion based on one of the devotions appointed for the week
  • offer a chance to connect with one of the contributors to help push the conversation deeper
  • open the program with about 20 minutes of reflection and discussion starter time that will be recorded and available to study groups meeting later in the week

Come join us on the journey as together we explore the resources in this thoughtful new book from UCPH and seek ways to deepen faith, hope, and love for ourselves and each other.
