Rev. Phil Spencer

Phil began working in full-time ministry in 1990 and retired from same in 2020. 27 of those years were spent in Qualicum Beach, which is where he still resides. He has functioned within the United Church in a variety of roles, but his favourite work is pastoring in a congregation. Preaching is a joy. Prior to serving the church he was an R.N. and enjoyed work in some of the province’s busy Emergency Departments. He remains convinced that this was excellent preparation for congregational life. Phil is married to Tevis and they are the parents of two adult children. He is a keen road cyclist, an unimpressive but enthusiastic guitar player, and a long-suffering Canucks fan
