We’re delighted to report that Pride Weekend will take place on August 25-27, 2023. There will be activities for youth, adults, and families of all ages. Right now, plans are still underway but here are a few things to look forward to:
FRIDAY, AUG 25: Flag-raisings by the City of Courtenay and Town of Comox
FRIDAY, AUG 25: Pride youth dance
SATURDAY, AUG 26: Pride parade, engineered by our collaborators in Pride, Queer Culture
SATURDAY, AUG 26: ‘Pride in the Park’ at Simms Park, Courtenay, brought to you by the Pride Society – food, music, vendors, a Kids Zone, and more
SATURDAY, AUG 26: Enter the Hive – evening club event by Queer Culture (age 19+)
SUNDAY, AUG 27: Drag brunch by Queer Culture (they’ve been working hard over there!)
And there are a few other ideas on the table. We’re reaching out to community partners about organizing satellite events before or after the big weekend, so stay tuned.
