Yes, in-person worship will re-start at Comox United Church on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
We had hoped to welcome you with smiling, unmasked faces to a joyful celebration of Christian community. It will look differently than that.

We are going to incorporate every safety measure that was employed at the beginning of this pandemic, namely wearing masks, hand sanitizing, and physical distancing. If you are fully vaccinated you are invited to attend
in-person worship. If you are not vaccinated or are experiencing any symptoms of illness we encourage you to watch the worship service on-line at home.

Please read the “Communicable Disease Prevention Plan” (in the middle of the Home Page) and familiarize yourself
with its expectations.

Here is what you can expect if you attend in-person worship on September 12:

  •   Health screening questions prior to entering the building
  •  Masks are expected for everyone over age 12 and should be worn throughout the service
  •  Full vaccination is expected for everyone over age 12
  • Use hand sanitizer on entering the building
  • Sit only in designated pews (some pews will be roped off to ensure physical distancing)
  • There will be no congregational singing
  • There will be an offering box on the table in the narthex; no offering plates will be passed
  • There will be a few printed copies of the Order of Service in a basket on the table in
    the narthex
  • Respect each other’s social distancing needs, including whether or not to shake hands
  • Exit promptly after the service; no lingering inside
  • Refreshments (water and juice) will be served outside; bring your own beverage if you like

If you choose not to attend in-person the worship service will still be recorded. We don’t yet know if
we will be able to broadcast “live” on the internet on Sunday morning. Stay tuned! The recorded service
will be available to watch on-line later on Sunday or Monday. We expect there will be some bumps along
the road as this new form of integrated worship evolves. Please be patient with us.
